Why Wingfoil

The Fastest Growing
Sport in the World.

Fast to Learn

Most students achieve their first flight in 4–6 hours. The learning curve is gentler than kitesurfing.

No Lines

Unlike kitesurfing, there are no dangerous lines to tangle. Just you, a wing, and the foil.

Light Wind Sport

Works in much lighter winds than kiting demands — from 10 knots and up.

Silent Ride

A completely silent, butter-smooth ride over the roughest chop. Nothing else feels like this.

The Science

The Physics of Lift:
How Hydrofoiling Works.

A hydrofoil works exactly like an airplane wing, but in water. Because water is roughly 800 times denser than air, even a small foil can generate enough lift to support your entire body weight at speeds as low as 10–12 km/h.

The "flight" occurs because of Bernoulli's principle: water travels faster over the curved top surface of the foil, creating a pressure difference that pulls the board upward. Mastering this "flight height" is the core of our coaching.

Steady Trade Winds

Essential for keeping the wing powered while you focus on foil balance. Smooth laminar flow, no sudden gusts.

Protected Bay

Flat water areas and soft sandy bottoms make the transition from taxiing to flying significantly easier and safer.

Safety Boat Support

Our instructors use motorized boat support. We follow you downwind so you focus on the ride, not the return trip.

Step by Step

Structured Wingfoil
Curriculum

1

Wing Control on Land

Learn to power, depower, and maneuver the wing safely on the beach before touching the water.

2

Body Drag

Use the wing's power to drag through the water on your stomach — no board yet, just pure wing feeling.

3

Board Riding

Stand on the board and ride across the water with the foil submerged. Feel the lift building.

4

First Flight

The magic moment — the foil lifts the board out of the water and you are flying silently above the ocean.

Wingfoil Mastery Tips

Taking Flight in Essaouira

Balance & Stability

Learning wingfoil starts with balance. We begin with large-volume boards to provide maximum stability while you master the wing control.

Wing Control

Before hitting the water, we practice wing handling on the beach. Learning how to power and depower the wing is crucial for a smooth start.

The First Flight

Once you have speed, you'll feel the foil lift. Maintaining a level board and a centered stance is key to your first long flights.

Gear Choice

We use top-of-the-line foils and wings. High-aspect foils and lightweight wings make the learning process faster and more enjoyable.

Wingfoil FAQ

Everything you need to know about learning wingfoiling in Morocco's Atlantic coast

Wingfoiling has a unique learning curve. While it requires more balance than kitesurfing initially, it is often considered safer and more accessible for older riders or those without board-sport experience. If you can handle a wing on land, you are half-way there!
Most students achieve their first sustained flights within 3 to 5 sessions. We use specialized high-volume foil boards and large wings to make the process as fast as possible. If you have previous foiling experience (e-foil or surf foil), you will progress even quicker.
Wingfoiling requires slightly less wind than kitesurfing. 12-25 knots is the "sweet spot" in Essaouira Bay. The rolling Atlantic swells provide the perfect energy to flag out the wing and enjoy pure foil gliding.
Yes, safety is our priority. We provide all students with helmets and buoyancy aids/impact vests. Foiling involves higher speeds and a sharp mast, so proper protection is essential during the learning phase.
Basic swimming ability is required. You will be wearing a high-buoyancy vest, and you are always attached to the board by a leash. However, being comfortable in deep water with a bit of swell is important for your confidence and safety.
